Middle school winter sports TRYOUTS

Middle school winter sports are fast approaching. The winter sports offered are wrestling and basketball. All athletes must be signed up to tryout and must have a DIAA physical dated after 4/1/24, submitted to sports.physicals@odyssey.k12.de.us by 10/31/24.

Middle school boys basketball tryouts: Monday, November 18th, 6:30-8:30 @The Grail.

Middle school girls basketball tryouts: Tuesday, November 19th, 6:30-8:30 @The Grail.

Middle school wrestling tryouts: Monday, November 18th & Tuesday November 19th 3p-5p @The Grail. Wrestling will have transportation to the Grail for tryouts.

Monday, November 11th is Veterans Day and the students don't have school, however it is the first day that winter sports can start so tryouts will be happening.

Athletic Fees

High School Athletic Fees - First Sport $100, Second Sport $75, Third Sport $50
Middle School Athletic Fees - $50 Per Sport

All checks should be made payable to Odyssey Charter School. Student athletes should give their check to their coach or athletic director. Payments can also be made online using the velocity portal. If paying online please make sure to click athletic fees for purpose of payment.

Eligibility Information

DIAA Fall Sports - Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Field Hockey, Cross Country, Cheerleading
DIAA Winter Sports - Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Cheerleading
DIAA Spring Sports - Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, Boys Volleyball, Track and Field

To be eligible for sports, you must have a DIAA sports physical on file with Mr. Laudeman, and a signed Odysey Charter parent/athlete handbook. If you do not pursue a regular course of study and pass at least five credits per marking period (equivalent of four credits in junior high/middle school), two credits of which must be in the areas of Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies, or World Language. If you are a senior, you must pass all courses which satisfy an unmet graduation requirement

Physical Exam Information

Get your DIAA sports physical now!
All sports physicals must be fully completed and turned in before you are eligible to participate in any sports. If you do not have a completed sports physical for the current school year you will not be allowed to tryout. All sports physicals must be on the DIAA form and dated after April 1st. You can go to your family doctor or a walk in clinic. The clinic right by school offers them for $45. The following med express clinics offer sports physicals.
